Tell us which new playground option you prefer before 5pm Wednesday 1 May 2024.

Background

Each year, a number of playgrounds in West Torrens are replaced and upgraded in line with Council's Recreation and Open Space Asset Management Plan. The schedule of upgrades - which playgrounds, when, and what type of improvements - is decided on the basis of the age and condition of existing equipment, and use of the playground and surrounding reserve.

The extent and type of community feedback we seek for each playground upgrade will depend on the size of the playground and the reserve it is located in, and how it is categorised within the open space hierarchy in Council's Open Space Plan.

Lindfield Reserve

Lindfield Reserve is a neighbourhood reserve in the open space hierarchy, located between Lindfield Avenue and Montana Drive, Novar Gardens.

The planned upgrade will involve installing new play equipment within the boundary of the existing playground area. The existing shade sail at the playground will be retained.

Two playground upgrade options have been developed for Lindfield Reserve. To accommodate safety guidelines that require specific fall zones for play equipment, each of these options is 'standalone' - equipment cannot be 'mixed and matched' between the options.

We are seeking community feedback to help decide which of the 2 new playground options shown below will go ahead.

Option 1

Option 1 includes the equipment listed and shown in the concept plans below:

  • Climbing frame with slides, monkey bars, 'hang 'n glide', and rope web.
  • 'Spinna' compact roundabout.
  • 'Cosmic fountain' climbing rope web.
  • 3 swings including round basket swing and toddler and junior swing.
  • 2 rockers.

Option 2

Option 2 includes the equipment listed and shown in the concept plans below:

  • Tower play structure with 2 slides and rope net access.
  • Hang 'n glide.
  • 2 rockers - 1 accessible and 1 standard.
  • Climbing frame with slide and rope bridge.
  • 5 swings including round basket swing, toddler and junior swing, and all abilities swing.
  • Accessible carousel.
