What's happening?

Council is investigating possible locations around West Torrens for a trial installation of public electric vehicle (EV) chargers.

EV infrastructure supplier EVX Australia has received Commonwealth Government funding to install a number of EV chargers for public use.

Council is partnering with EVX Australia for a 2-year trial to better understand the community benefit of public EV chargers.

Investigations so far have identified 20 potentially suitable charger trial locations in West Torrens, shown on the map below.

Feedback received from adjacent residents and businesses will be considered in in assessing the suitability of each of the 20 potential sites to move towards installation.

What would change?

At the final locations selected for the charger trial, the EV chargers will attach to existing stobie poles. An example of what the charger would look like is shown in the image below.

Following installation, 2 on-street car parks adjacent each charger will be limited to EV use only to ensure access to the charger for EV users in the community.
