The Ashford Medical Precinct (Alexander Avenue from Day Avenue to Herbert Road, and Marleston Avenue from Alexander Avenue to Anzac Highway) experiences high volumes of vehicle and pedestrian traffic both day and night as staff, patients and visitors access the medical facilities. Much of the existing infrastructure in the area is aged and has limited amenity, and it has been identified that existing traffic and pedestrian facilities could also benefit from some improvements.
As a result of the above, Council is investigating opportunities to improve roads, footpaths and streetscapes in this area to improve function and amenity. This will include consideration of:
- Accessibility for pedestrians and for people with a disability.
- Landscaping and streetscape treatments to achieve a more pleasant, inviting environment.
- Traffic management and car parking.
Before developing any improvement plans for this area, we want to hear from local residents and those who work at or visit the Precinct. Sharing your current concerns and ideas for improvement will help us develop a design brief and upgrade plan that addresses the most pressing issues and meets community expectations.
Consultation is open from 12 May to 8 June 2025.
