Project update - November 2025

Following an overall positive response from community engagement, work towards the Shared Path Masterplan has progressed in the second half of 2025.

Construction of Council's portions of the shared path will occur in stages, with construction of the initial stretches from Ann Nelson Drive to Murray Street, and Murray Street to Holland Street expected to start in the first half of 2026.

The State Government and Council are working together to improve the southern side of Karrawirra Parri/River Torrens Linear Park Trail path between Port Road and South Road.

Development of land adjacent this path including the former West End Brewery and the Torrens to Darlington Motorway (T2D) has created the opportunity for a shared path masterplan incorporating:

  • A 3 metre wide pedestrian and cycling path.
  • Seating, balustrading, landscaping, public art, and gathering spaces.
  • Rest nodes with seating around existing native trees.
  • Improved connection with existing and future paths and adjacent public and community spaces.

Your feedback on the Karrawirra Parri Shared Path Masterplan is invited between 24 March and 30 April 2025.
