Karrawirra Parri/River Torrens Shared Path Masterplan

Share your thoughts on plans for a riverside pedestrian and cycling path between Port Road and South Road.

The State Government and Council are working together to improve the southern side of Karrawirra Parri/River Torrens Linear Park Trail path between Port Road and South Road.

Development of land adjacent this path including the former West End Brewery and the Torrens to Darlington Motorway (T2D) has created the opportunity for a shared path masterplan incorporating:

A 3 metre wide pedestrian and cycling path.
Seating, balustrading, landscaping, public art, and gathering spaces.
Rest nodes with seating around existing native trees.
Improved connection with existing and future paths and adjacent public and community spaces.

Your feedback on the Karrawirra Parri Shared Path Masterplan is invited between 24 March and 30 April 2025.

Node structure used to create link around existing native trees 3. Redevelopment of public reserve as part of the former Thebarton campus development site 4. Custom feature pathway node to end of reserve with riverbank lookout, integrated seating, signage, public art and net hammocks 5. Stepped feature nodes and ramp access to top of existing embankment 6. Redevelopment of public laneway as urban plaza with integrated water sensitive urban design 7. Potential discharge of laneway stormwater down embankment through vegetated water treatment ponds 8. Informal path connection down to existing riverbank footpath 9. Step access down to existing riverbank footpath
