Tell us which new playground option you prefer before 5pm Wednesday 1 May 2024.
Background
Each year, a number of playgrounds in West Torrens are replaced and upgraded in line with Council's Recreation and Open Space Asset Management Plan. The schedule of upgrades - which playgrounds, when, and what type of improvements - is decided on the basis of the age and condition of existing equipment, and use of the playground and surrounding reserve.
The extent and type of community feedback we seek for each playground upgrade will depend on the size of the playground and the reserve it is located in, and how it is categorised within the open space hierarchy in Council's Open Space Plan.
Noble Avenue Reserve
Noble Reserve is a local reserve in the open space hierarchy, located at the corner of Noble Avenue and Franciscan Avenue, Lockleys.
The planned upgrade will involve installing new play equipment and a shade structure within the boundary of the existing playground area. New access paths from both Noble Avenue and Franciscan Avenue will also be built.
Three playground options have been developed for Noble Avenue Reserve, comprising equipment that will safely fit the area available. Each option includes a climbing frame and swings, along with roundabout and/or rocker. To accommodate safety guidelines that require specific fall zones for play equipment, each of these options is 'standalone' - equipment cannot be 'mixed and matched' between the options.
We are seeking community feedback to help decide which option will go ahead.
