Consultation open: 4 November - 18 December 2020.

By now you may be aware that our state is going through the biggest planning reform in 25 years. The State Government is about to adopt a series of changes, which could mean that our suburbs look and feel different into the future.

If you have concerns about planning in our metropolitan area and the significant changes that will be coming to your neighbourhood, NOW is your last chance to voice those concerns as the State Planning Commission (the Commission) has announced that South Australians will have another opportunity to provide feedback on the revised draft Planning and Design Code (Code) for an additional six-week period.

Our Council is concerned about:

  • Public notification for new developments.
  • Infill development, including allotment sizes, building heights, car parking, open space and landscaping.
  • Retaining the character of West Torrens streetscapes.
  • Urban Corridor Zones, including building height and treatment at the interface of neighbouring zones.
  • Protection of our residential areas from inappropriate land uses.

If you share any of these concerns, or have other comments you wish to make NOW is the time to do so.
