Update November 2025

Following community consultation, at it's meeting of 15 April 2025, Council approved the Representation Review Report to be referred to the Electoral Commission of South Australia.

At it's meeting of 21 October 2025, Council noted the City of West Torrens Representation Review Outcome report, resulting in no change to the existing composition and structure of the Council.

Between 13 February and 7 March 2025 Council is seeking feedback on a Representation Review Report, prepared in accordance with the Local Government Act 1999 (the Act).

The Representation Review Report recommends that:

  • The name of the Council remain unchanged.
  • The Principal Member of Council continue to be a Mayor, elected by the Council area as a whole.
  • The seven (7) Wards be retained, each retaining their current names.
  • The elected body of the Council to continue to comprise a total of 14 Ward Councillors, with two (2) elected from each Ward.

The purpose of consultation is to invite community feedback on the Representation Review Report and meet the public consultation requirements set out in the Act. Feedback received will be considered and included the Final Representation Review Report to the Electoral Commissioner of South Australia (ECSA).
