What's happening?

Council has developed a Youth Action Plan in consultation with the City of West Torrens Youth Advisory Committee (YAC). Now were seeking feedback from the broader community and in particular young people in West Torrens.

What is a Youth Action Plan?

The draft Youth Action Plan 2026-2029 (the Plan) aims to create ongoing ways for young people aged 12-25 years to be involved in shaping council services and community outcomes that are meaningful to youth, while encouraging diversity and inclusion. It is informed by the Department of Human Services (DHS) SA Youth Action Plan 2025-2028.

Development of the Plan sits within the Community Life focus area of council's Community Plan 2034. Community Life is about supporting diversity, health and wellbeing, community cohesion and connections and creating opportunities to learn and enjoy the local area. Strategic Objective 1.7 aims to respond to the needs of young people.
